Cosmelan treatment; and say goodbye to blemishes that won't disappear.

Cosmelan® is one of the most effective professional depigmenting treatments in the world for treating melasma, sun spots and uneven skin tone.

A complete protocol with in-cabin treatment + home care + professional follow-up.

Cosmelan® attacks the source of the stain to achieve real results

Cosmelan; the treatment you need to improve your skin

Many people have tried creams, peels, or treatments that promise to eliminate dark spots, but over time they reappear. This happens because the pigmentation originates from within the skin. The Cosmelan treatment reduces dark spots and controls melasma to prevent their recurrence.

What is Cosmelan®?

Evens out skin tone

Restore the luminosity and balance of your face through specialized treatments that blur blemishes and unify the tone, achieving a radiant, healthy and naturally flawless appearance.

Prevent stains from reappearing.

We implement post-treatment strategies and skin education to stabilize melanin production. Our preventative approach ensures long-lasting results, preventing future pigmentation.

What is Cosmelan®?

cosmelan® is a pioneering professional depigmenting treatment in the field of skin depigmentation. It comprehensively eliminates even the most severe and resistant existing blemishes and prevents their reappearance for both short- and long-term results.

Does Cosmelan® work on all types of stains?

With cosmelan®, we treat all types of spots of melanic origin, meaning those spots caused by an overproduction of melanin triggered by various factors (hormonal, genetic, post-acne, post-hair removal, etc.) and which worsen due to sun exposure. Therefore, cosmelan® is effective in treating spots such as melasma, hyperpigmentation of the inflammatory origin (HPI), solar lentigines, age spots, and freckles.

What is the best time to undergo Cosmelan® treatment?

Cosmelan® can be done at any time of year, although it is recommended during periods of lower sun exposure, such as winter and autumn. If you live in a warm climate or have the treatment done during the summer, you should take extra precautions with a very high SPF sunscreen, such as melan 130 pigment control, and completely avoid very intense and prolonged sun exposure.

How long does the treatment last?

The cosmelan® method consists of a two-phase protocol necessary to achieve the desired result. It involves intensive in-office depigmentation followed by at-home treatment, with the total treatment duration being approximately six months. The timeframe may vary depending on the severity and intensity of the skin discoloration.

How soon can I expect to see results? Why should I continue if I'm already seeing results before I finish?

The most significant change occurs a few weeks after the in-salon mask application; skin texture improves and dark spots visibly reduce. This can create a false sense of success. During this period, melanin has been removed from the skin’s surface layers, which is why the spots appear much lighter and the skin smoother and more supple, but the root cause of the problem has not yet been addressed. The melanocyte, the cell where melanin is produced, remains uncontrolled and continues to produce excess pigment (melanin). To re-educate the melanocyte and control this overproduction, it is important to continue a home treatment with a regulating effect, so that the cell returns to a state of normal activity and, therefore, prevents the spots from reappearing.

What happens if I stop applying the home treatment?

If we don’t follow the at-home regimen, we are interrupting the treatment and therefore won’t obtain the expected results. Not applying Cosmelan 2, a depigmenting cream with a regulating action, leads to the melanocyte not being regulated and therefore to the continued excessive and uncontrolled production of melanin. The dark spot will reappear as the skin layers renew themselves, since the melanin migrates to the surface, making the spot increasingly visible.

Not using sun protection, such as Melan 130 Pigment Control, poses a very high risk of the spot reappearing, since during treatment the skin is more sensitive and receptive to external aggressors.

Can I combine the Cosmelan® method with other depigmenting treatments?

For at least the first three months of the treatment, it is not recommended to use any other type of minimally invasive treatment that could irritate the skin, such as peels, microneedling, exfoliation, etc., as this can even cause repigmentation. The use of soothing and regenerative treatments, both in the treatment room and at home, is recommended if necessary.

In the later months, we can combine the treatment with other therapies that help prolong the results, such as Melan Tran3x Concentrate and Melan Tran3x Gel-Cream.

Does the treatment prevent me from carrying out my daily life normally?

Since it’s a non-invasive treatment, it won’t prevent you from carrying on with your normal life. You simply need to be extra careful when performing certain activities during the first few days, the skin’s adaptation period after the in-office treatment. For example, avoid swimming pools, prolonged exposure to heat sources, and activities that cause excessive sweating.

Can the spots reappear after the treatment is finished?

With appropriate professional treatment, it’s possible to visibly eliminate excess pigmentation. However, it’s a dynamic process, and the underlying imbalance that caused the spots can lead to their reappearance. Therefore, even if the spots are no longer visible, it’s essential to use a daily depigmenting treatment and year-round sun protection to prevent repigmentation.

Does Cosmelan® treatment have side effects?

If used correctly and under the supervision of a professional, no side effects should occur. Cosmelan® is a topical treatment and is therefore minimally invasive, allowing you to continue with your normal life. During the initial phase and after the in-office treatment, the skin may experience some irritation and redness, a completely normal and expected result that will disappear within a few days. During the at-home phase, it is normal to experience slight peeling and sensitivity, symptoms that will disappear with the application of home care products recommended by the specialist.

How does Cosmelan® work against acne?

Cosmelan® is a depigmenting treatment and is therefore not indicated for treating active acne. For treating acne in its various phases on acne-prone and seborrheic skin, we recommend the medical treatment blemiderm®. However, acne has an inflammatory component that can lead to the appearance of skin blemishes known as HPI (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). Cosmelan® is effective on these types of acne-related blemishes in all skin types and phototypes.

Is the Cosmelan® depigmenting treatment suitable for underarms and intimate areas?

No. The Cosmelan® method is formulated and indicated exclusively for treating hyperpigmentation localized on the face.

For delicate areas such as the underarms and intimate zones, we offer a specialized alternative:

  • Dermamelan® Intimate Pack: An advanced depigmenting treatment specifically designed to safely improve visible pigmentation concerns in intimate areas using a targeted, professional approach.

Personalized facials with professional diagnosis. Real results, no exaggeration.
